Earl Robinson

Education: MBA, Columbia Business School; BA, Wesleyan University

Earl Robinson is CEO and Founder of Consequent Capital Management, boards of managers of the firm and the firm's parent company. He leads the firm's alternatives, real estate, and special situations investment practices. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Earlier in his career, Earl helped launch a $700 million distressed debt and special situations investment firm. He also served as a Senior Vice President in the leveraged buyout and special situations verticals at a $2 billion private equity and pension fund investment advisory firm. At JPMorgan Investment Management – Americas, he acted as Operations Officer with $440 billion in assets under management and, prior to that, as a Vice President. He began his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

Prior to founding Consequent, Earl was the CEO of the New Orleans Startup Fund and PowerMoves.NOLA. He secured significant financial and strategic support from Morgan Stanley, the Knight Foundation, the Case Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, and others to execute a national, inclusive venture capital ecosystem strategy. Under Earl’s leadership, PowerMoves.NOLA companies and alumni gathered more than $30 million in startup and growth capital in less than two years.

Earl is a member of the development team and equity investor group for the Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans. The $384 million project is the largest real estate development effort in New Orleans since the development of the Super Dome in 1976. The Four Seasons New Orleans team made the largest commitment to Minority Business Enterprises and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in the city’s history.

Earl serves on the board of Ebony Media Holdings, LLC.

Earl received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Columbia Business School. He attended Columbia as a Robert Toigo Foundation Fellow.

 

Justin Adamson, Performance Analytics and Reporting

Years of Experience: 15

Justin Adamson is an Associate of Consequent Capital Management, leading Performance Analytics and Reporting.

Prior to joining Consequent, Justin headed Performance Measurement at the investment advisory firm Gray & Company. He was responsible for collecting, reconciling, and imputing financial data to produce accurate performance reports for clients. Prior to Gray, Justin served as a Performance Analyst at Investment Performance Services. He has also worked as a Benefit Analyst at Renaissance Bank Advisors, where he was instrumental in designing and customizing non-qualified retirement benefit plans.

 

Janelle Alexander, Portfolio Manager – Impact and Special Situations

Education: BA, Amherst College

Janelle Alexander is a Managing Director of Consequent Capital Management, serving as a Portfolio Manager focused on the firm’s Impact and Special Situations investment activities.

Prior to joining Consequent, Janelle founded Alprion Capital Management LP and later launched its affiliate, Trident Municipal Research. Most recently she sourced and advised high-growth and technology startups as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with the New Orleans Startup Fund, a privately-held investment fund, and PowerMoves.NOLA, a New Orleans-based accelerator focused on entrepreneurs of color.

Janelle previously was a Vice President in Public Sector and Infrastructure Investment Banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. She also worked as an Account Executive at Experian, where she headed sales for the Northeast region in the Public Sector Group. She began her professional career as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division at Salomon Smith Barney (now Citi).

Janelle received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Spanish from Amherst College. She is a 2010 alumna of the Council of Urban Professional Fellowship.

 

DeLisa Peters Boyd, Business Development and Investor Relations Analyst

Education: AAS, The Craft Fashion Institute

DeLisa Peters Boyd is an Associate of Consequent Capital Management, serving in the firm’s Business Development & Investor Relations group.

Prior to Consequent, DeLisa was founder of D&E Consultants, a procurement and project management consultancy for expanding and early-stage companies.

Prior to D&E, DeLisa’s experience included roles in merchandising and operations for national consumer goods brands such as Vera Wang Lavender Label, Sam Edelman, J. Crew and American Eagle Outfitters. During her career at Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, DeLisa managed multiple brands across several business units, ultimately serving as Senior Director of Merchandising for a unit generating revenue of over $150 million. She began her professional career with Donna Karan International.

DeLisa received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Design & Merchandising from The Craft Fashion Institute.

 

Despy A. Giddens, Controller

Years of Experience: 19

Despy Giddens is a Managing Director of Consequent Capital Management, serving as the firm’s Controller.

Prior to joining Consequent, she served as Controller at the investment advisory firm Gray & Company. Before Gray, Despy was with Cornel, Inc., where she handled accounting and other management functions. She has also operated bill-pay services for private clients over the course of her career in financial services.

She has held an appointment of Notary Public since 1990.

 

Jingwei Li, Manager Research and Monitoring

Education: MS (Finance) and MS (Accountancy), DePaul University; BS, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics

Jingwei Li is a Director of Consequent Capital Management, focusing on Manager Research and Monitoring in the firm’s Quantitative Analytics group.

Prior to joining Consequent, Jingwei worked for Gray & Company as a Senior Research Analyst with the Manager Research and Due Diligence team, focusing on traditional equity and fixed income investments. Before Gray, she was a graduate assistant at DePaul University, where she worked closely with professors in the Finance Department on research projects and facilitated review labs for accounting courses. Jingwei also interned at China Construction Bank - Shenyang Branch and as an Accountant at Liaoning Publishing Group in China.

Jingwei received a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. She received a Master of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Science degree in Accountancy from DePaul University. She is a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals. She is also a CPA and a member of AICPA.

 

Kurt Lofters, Investment Consultant

Kurt Lofters is a Managing Director of Consequent Capital Management, serving as an Investment Consultant.

Prior to joining Consequent, Kurt was a Senior Consultant at the investment advisory firm Gray & Company. He has served as an Investment Consultant at Merrill Lynch and an Investment Specialist at Invesco within their defined contribution retirement practice.

He currently serves as a member of the board of Cool Girls, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to the empowerment of young girls from low-income communities in Atlanta.

Kurt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

 

Brad E. Lyons, Investment Consultant

Education: MBA, Golden Gate University; BS, Iowa State University

Brad Lyons is a Managing Director of Consequent Capital Management, serving as an Investment Consultant.

Prior to joining Consequent, Brad was a Consultant at the investment advisory firm Gray & Company. He served as a Director, managing operations at Iron Capital Advisors, an Atlanta based Registered Investment Advisor. Before Iron Capital, Brad was the Director of IRA Rollover Services at AMVESCAP Retirement Inc., where he led the development of products and services designed to assist retiring and terminated employees in managing their retirement accounts. Brad’s career has also included management positions in marketing and strategic product development for SunTrust Banks, Inc. and Charles Schwab Corp.

Brad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Golden Gate University. Brad is a CFP ® certificant.

 

Chandra Kerley Ridley, Chief Operating Officer

Chandra Kerley Ridley is Chief Operating Officer of Consequent Capital Management.

Before joining Consequent, Chandra was Chief Operating Officer of New Orleans Startup Fund and PowerMoves.NOLA. She led the organization’s efforts to increase the number of venture-backed startup companies founded by people of color, and played a critical role in the organization’s national expansion.

Prior to the New Orleans Startup Fund, Chandra’s experience included roles in human resources and operations for national hotel brands such as Starwood, Hilton, and Hyatt, where she was on the opening team for the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Before that she worked in financial services as a Marketing Specialist for the Factoring Division of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust. She began her professional career in Intergovernmental Relations for the Mayor’s Office of New Orleans.

She is a founding board member of the 501(c)3 Heart N. Hands, and she serves as a member of Junior League of Atlanta and Links Inc.

Chandra received a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Tulane University Freeman School of Business.

 

Kenneth Simon, Chief Compliance Officer

Education: JD, University of Alabama; BA, University of South Alabama

Kenneth Simon is Chief Compliance Officer of Consequent Capital Management.

Prior to joining Consequent, Ken was a Partner at Christian & Small. He has represented numerous public agencies in bond transactions, serving as bond, underwriter’s, and issuer’s counsel in various transactions, including the issuance of more than $200 million in debt securities by the state of Alabama, the Alabama Public Finance Authority, the Alabama Water Pollution Control Authority, the Alabama Public School and College Authority, the State Industrial Development Authority, and the Alabama Corrections Institution Finance Authority.

Ken has served as the Assistant Director and Branch Chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement in Washington, D.C., supervising investigations of possible violations of federal securities laws.

He served as Chairman of the Governor of Alabama’s Tort Reform Advisory Committee. As a result of his work in advising and representing public agencies and private entities, Ken was named “Best of the Bar” in Governmental Relations by the Birmingham Business Journal.

Ken has served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations including Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School, Cornerstone Schools of Alabama, Bay Area Food Bank, and Baptist Health System Foundation.

Ken received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Alabama and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He was a White House Fellow.

 

Cyril Theccanat

Education: MBA, Wharton School of Business; ME, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; BE, Stony Brook University

Cyril Theccanat is Chief Investment Officer of Consequent Capital Management. He leads the firm’s investment and institutional consulting activities. He is chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee and holds a seat on the board of directors of the firm’s parent company.

Cyril has over 25 years of experience in the institutional investment management business as a portfolio manager, trader, quantitative analyst, strategist, and chief investment officer. He has experience in all facets of pension and endowment/foundation investment management from market analysis, investment strategy formulation, and portfolio management to asset allocation, investment manager selection/due-diligence evaluation, and asset/liability analysis.

Prior to joining Consequent, Cyril was President and Chief Investment Officer of Smith Graham & Company. During his tenure, the firm’s institutional assets under management grew from $2 billion to more than $5 billion over a period of ten years. He was also Chairman of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and a member of the Executive Committee. Cyril directed and coordinated Smith Graham’s successful partnership with State Street Global Advisors to assist in the management, analysis, and disposition of the U.S. Treasury Department’s $250 billion MBS portfolio, which was established to help stabilize the financial and housing markets during the 2008 Credit Crisis. The successful disposition of the Treasury’s portfolio generated a profit of $25 billion for taxpayers.

Before joining Smith Graham, Cyril was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager with U.S. Trust Company, where he was directly responsible for managing $2.4 billion for institutional clients. Prior to U.S. Trust, Cyril was a Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert, where he was responsible for foreign exchange risk and interest rate risk management. Earlier in his career, Cyril was a Senior Consultant with Chase Econometrics, where he developed a variety of econometric-based models for clients in the financial, technology, utility, and consumer goods industries.

Cyril serves on the board of directors of the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business Foundation and is Chairman of the Foundation’s Investment Committee. He also served for four years as a pension board member for the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority’s Retirement Plan.

Cyril received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University, a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Ademir Zeco, Portfolio Manager - Alternative Funds of Funds

Ademir Zeco is a Managing Director of Consequent Capital Management, serving as a Portfolio Manager focused on the firm’s Multi-Strategy Alternatives Funds of Funds vehicles.

Prior to joining Consequent, Ademir was a Managing Director in Alternative Investments at the investment advisory firm Gray & Company. Prior to his work at Gray, he was a Senior Research Consultant at Aon Hewitt, focusing on hedge fund due diligence. Before the Aon-Hewitt merger, he was Global Head of Alternatives Research at Aon Investment Consulting, spearheading the due diligence effort of alternative investment managers. Ademir began his career at Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting, where he was a Manager Research Analyst.

Ademir received a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Services Management from Johnson & Wales University, and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder. He is also a Level II CFA Candidate.
